Frequently Asked Questions

How often is linen changed? For multiple day rentals, we provide fresh line every three days

Do we have access to a washer and dryer? Yes, there is a nominal charge of $2.00/load to offset the cost of utilities and equipment use.

Who has access to the hot tub? The deluxe cabin has a private outdoor hot tub. The four cozy cabins share a separate outdoor hot tub. When more than cozy cabin is occupied the hot tub is scheduled on a first-come first-served basis. The schedule is posted near the hot tubs.

What does it cost to go paddling? During the paddling season, April through October, there is no charge for guests who paddle out from the Inn and return to the Inn. Guests simply sign a release form and are responsible for taking the boats, paddles and jackets to and from the river. When the river is too high to float, guests may drive to our Kayak Bunkhouse Camp on Kincaid Lake and paddle from there. Those who stay during the off season may request a pass for season paddling privileges. 20% Discounts are available for river trips that require transportation.

How's the fishin'? The Main Licking River has large and small mouth bass, rock bass, sager, drum, and a variety of catfish. Fishing this stream is more challenging than fishing the South Fork of the Licking, which some enthusiasts describe as the best small mouth bass stream in the tri-state area. Kincaid Lake is noted for record size large mouth bass.

What else is there to do in your area? Though we are in a distinctly rural setting, we are only 20 minutes from Northern Kentucky University and 30 minutes from all the attractions near the river front of Covington, Newport and Cincinnati. There are several public golf courses nearby. The Newport Aquarium, Cincinnati Museums of Art and Natural History and the Cincinnati Zoo are some of the most popular attractions. We have literature on hand for these and other attractions.

Are pets allowed? Dogs have always been welcome on the grounds and in the canoes, but we've had to reconsider welcoming them into the cabins because that can create a problem for other guests who have severe allergies. For that reason we have been talking with each individual customer who has a dog to explore the possibility of them traveling without them this particular time or paying a pet fee to cover the cost of extra cleaning involved in getting the cabins ready for future pet sensitive guest.
